Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician License with the State of Tennessee (PHRMTCH-TN) required and must be renewed every two years.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
• Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) and Pharmacy Basic Life Support (CPR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct pharmacist supervision, perform routine technical and clerical support tasks (e.g., medication dispensing, prescription filling, mail-out order processing) per established policies.
• Prepare unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and intravenous admixtures to assist in preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Assist in filing and maintenance of patient records per procedures.
• Order, stock, and distribute inventory throughout the pharmacy and institution while maintaining accurate levels of inventory.
