Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Nursing Assistant to coordinate and deliver patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. You will assist with exams, procedures, ADL support, and ensure accurate documentation of patient information.

This per diem evening position requires a valid Nursing Assistant I registration with the North Carolina Board of Nursing and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing assistant certification (NCBON)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
• Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
• Assists patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
• Monitoring of vital signs
• Measurement of height and weight
• Specimen collection
• Skin preps/scrubs such as CHG bathing
• Catheter care
• Capillary blood glucose checks
• Simple wound care
• Range-of-motion exercises
• Drain care
• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care
• Maintains an effective clinical work environment including cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients / specimens throughout hospital.
• Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist.
