Job summary

Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a per diem Evening shift Medical Laboratory Technician. The role covers a wide range of waived to highly complex tests across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and more.

Qualifications include ASCP certification preferred, 1 year hospital lab experience (preferred), and a Bachelor's degree in a health science field with CLIA credentials.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived to highly complex tests as authorized by CLIA.
• Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or medical director.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate.
