Job summary

J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK is seeking Temporary Part-Time Direct Care Specialists to join our pediatric rehabilitation team.

You will provide nursing and therapeutic support, assist with recreation and daily living activities for disabled and developmentally challenged children from birth to 21, and help ensure a compassionate, safe environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, empathetic, and punctual, with the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have two-week orientation attending M-F 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hospital, recreational, or therapeutic experience preferred.
• Educational background in medical, recreational, or therapeutic fields.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 30 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Patient care – provide and assist in nursing and therapeutic care as well as activities of daily living.
• Medical needs – assist nurse with treatments and follow patient care plans; document in the electronic health record.
• Professional development – maintain specialized training and assist with tasks as needed.
