Job summary

The Patient Transporter at Richmond University Medical Center is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients to and from clinical units, and to diagnostic areas via wheelchair, stretcher or bed in accordance with hospital policies. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–5 years of patient care experience is preferred.

You must interact positively with patients and staff, record information legibly, and follow directions accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to interact positively with patients and hospital personnel.
• Must be able to hear, comprehend and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Move patients to and from clinical units and diagnostic areas via wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Respond to alerts and assist with situations to prevent ED diversion and holds.
• Assist with disasters as directed.
