Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking a Transport Aide to move patients, specimens and pharmaceutical goods throughout the medical center and to maintain rolling stock, wheelchairs and stretchers. The role requires a High School diploma and 1 year of experience, ability to read and write English, and OHS Fit Test/Annual Assessment; evenings with a 7.5-hour shift and alternating weekends are typical.

This is a full-time on-site position at a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• OHS Fit Test and OHS Annual Assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, specimens and pharmaceutical goods throughout Montefiore Medical Center.
• Routinely collect and maintain wheelchairs and stretchers (cleaning and upkeep).
• Maintain clerical records and log sheets accurately and promptly.
• Operate and support the pneumatic tube system as needed for transfers.
• Provide assistance in emergency situations in a timely and reliable manner.
