Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth, Inc. is seeking a Patient Transporter for an evening shift (4:00 PM–12:30 AM), 24 hours per week, rotating weekends/holidays.

You will document patient trips, transport patients between departments, assist with transfers in/out of beds and stretchers, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure smooth departures and arrivals. The role emphasizes patient safety, equipment maintenance, and clear communication with care teams.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided.
• Basic computer experience required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient trips using Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to and from care areas.
• Assist patients to/from vehicle, beds, and stretchers as needed.
• Communicate with patients and RNs about departure and arrival details.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after trips and report issues.
