Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate for Med/Surg/Infectious Diseases to work full time evenings on-site.

You will assist patients with activities of daily living, provide basic care to acutely ill patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. Responsibilities include performing EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse; you may participate in basic nursing tasks while enrolled in or pursuing a nursing program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma or related healthcare experience within last 6 months.
• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program with Fundamentals coursework.
• Evidence of Nursing Fundamentals coursework or completion of Nursing Assistant training.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the RN.
