Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment and apparatuses.
• Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Receives samples and distributes to appropriate laboratory areas.
• Accessions patient samples into LIS and notifies relevant staff if issues are found.
• Performs gross examination, dissection, and sampling for microscopic analysis.
• Assists pathologists and residents with procedures and specimen handling.
• Performs intraoperative consultations and FNA adequacies.
• Maintains tissue for research and tissue bank.
• Adheres to safety, health, and regulatory requirements.
• Provides training to trainees and staff in gross room protocols.
