Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Part-Time Phlebotomist (0.50 FTE) for Evening shifts (1:00p–5:00p, Mon–Fri with rotating weekends). The role involves collecting blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients and handling related lab specimens, with glucose testing at bedside and data entry into patient information systems.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of an accredited training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Six (6) months phlebotomy experience required OR completion of an internship through a certified training program required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens (phlebotomy) from inpatients and outpatients and receive other laboratory specimens (e.g., 24 hour urine containers, sputum, stool specimens) and split random urine specimens.
• Enter, verify, and update patient demographics and insurance information into various information systems.
• Perform and report bedside glucose testing.
