Job summary

Warren Woods Public Schools Adult Education Center is seeking an Adult Education Social Studies Teacher for evening hours. The position supports self-paced learning in ABE and HSE contexts, with a 5:30 PM–10:00 PM schedule on Thursdays and 5 hours per week, including prep time.

The role requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a 6-12 endorsement (CX, RX with CE, or CA with CB/CC/CD and CE). Experience with adults or at-risk learners and ability to integrate technology into instruction

Qualifications

• Michigan teaching certificate with 6-12 endorsement required in CX, RX and CE or CA, CB/CC, CD and CE.
• Experience teaching adults or alternative student population.
• Ability to integrate current technology into classroom instruction.
• Ability to design or modify curriculum to meet Michigan standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom facilitation and instruction in a self-paced Adult Education center.
• Teach Civics/Government, Economics, US History & Geography, World History and related subjects.
• Collaborate with instructors on curriculum development within Michigan standards.
• Effectively manage classroom participation, behavior, assessments, and attendance.
• Monitor attendance and assist in compiling student data for grant reporting.
