Job summary

Hearst Midwest Media is seeking a Part Time Packaging Assistant for the Evening shift (Sun–Fri, 5 PM–1 AM). You will feed pre-prints into an inserting machine, assist with mailings, and oversee packaging for distribution.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup assistance, loading materials, stacking bundles, tagging totes, and recycling. Strong attention to detail and multi-department flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with proofreading capability.
• Willingness to work across multiple departments.
• Self-motivated and able to start work without supervision.
• Ability to complete tasks as assigned.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Mechanical abilities helpful for setup tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean work areas and the printing plant, including restrooms.
• Assist in machine setup, including bundle tops for mailing process.
• Jog and load preprints into the machine.
• Catch bundles from the packaging end of the machine.
• Strap bundles and stack on skids or carts.
• Deliver finished products to staging areas for delivery or pickup.
• Tag totes and mail bags with proper tags.
• Recycle skids, bundles, and papers as needed.
