Job summary

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital is seeking a Nursing Station Clerk/NSC Trainee for the Part Time Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM). You will greet visitors, relay information, assist with patient charts, and support daily clerical tasks in inpatient or outpatient units.

Responsibilities include answering phones, processing orders, maintaining logs, and delivering supplies under RN supervision. Eligible candidates may be considered for NY HELPS with pre-employment checks and references.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical/secretarial/patient care experience in a health care setting.
• Provisional candidates must take the examination when next offered.
• 55b/c eligibility and transfer requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Orient patients and families to units and provide information.
• Direct visitors and relay information on patient conditions within policy.
• Process physicians' orders and fill out medication tickets and pharmacy requisitions.
• Receive new admissions and maintain patient charts and logs.
• Prepare and maintain daily clinic and patient charts.
