Job summary

New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is hiring a Nursing Assistant - Float for evening full-time shifts (3:30 PM–12:00 AM). The role supports multiple hospital units, including Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, and ED, under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of hospital CNA experience and a diploma or GED. Required credentials include a CNA program certification or BSN clinical rotation, and current BLS from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification from an approved Nurse Assistant training program or current enrollment in a BSN program with at least 1 clinical rotation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Float to all units in the hospital (Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, ED) as needed.
• Monitor blood pressure, temperature, pulses, respiration; assist with meals and patient transport.
• Provide compassionate patient-focused care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Support RN, Nurse Technicians and other staff to maintain safe, clean, and efficient patient care.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience and an inclusive hospital environment.
