Job summary

The NYC Administration for Children's Services is seeking Staff Nurses for the Pre-Placement Medical Services Unit to support foster care health services, with responsibilities across physical assessments and coordination of care. Evening and night shifts are available.

You will conduct comprehensive examinations, identify emergency needs, arrange follow-ups, and train staff and foster families in medical protocols. A NYS RN license is required, with NYC residency policies noted.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State Registered Nurse License.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical assessments and correctly identify the need for emergency treatment, next day follow-up care or ongoing medical needs.
• Train ACS and contracted agency staff on protocols, policies and medical conditions.
• Arrange follow up appointments, referrals where appropriate.
• Consult, refer, and collaborate with other disciplines involved in the care of children.
