Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a Part-time Residential Officer for the Fresh Start Women’s Center in Des Moines. The role requires evenings, nights, and weekend hours, with an hourly wage starting at $22.94 plus shift differential.

As a Residential Officer in a 24-hour corrections setting, you will interact directly with clients, support behavior change programming, and work with a multidisciplinary team to reduce reoffending risk while prioritizing safety and ethical conduct.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency.
• Background investigation required; valid driver’s license may be needed.
• First Aid and CPR certification will be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility security checks and searches.
• Transport clients within the community.
• Observe and assess client behaviors and interactions to support pro-social goals.
• Support case managers and clients in achieving goals with attention to safety and trauma-informed care.
