Job summary
Geisinger Behavioral Health is hiring Registered Nurses to join our compassionate nursing team. Shift available is 8p–8a with a 36-hour workweek and rotating weekends/holidays. Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must possess a current RN license as required by the state of employment.
- One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral experience a plus.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available on hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
- Administer medications per orders and document accurately.
- Ensure patient status is assessed continuously and notify physicians of significant changes.
- Provide direction to the unit as directed.
- Maintain professional rapport with patients and staff.
