Job summary

North Carolina Association of Broadcasters is seeking a 4pm producer to lead the one-hour newscast with breaking news, enterprise stories, and a newsroom team dedicated to excellence and audience growth.

You will produce and stack the 4PM newscast with a strong editorial voice, collaborate with anchors, reporters, and editors, and write clear, urgent scripts while adapting to breaking events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of producing experience in a television newsroom.
• Strong news judgment and understanding of local, national, and international current events.
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce and stack the 4PM newscast with a strong editorial voice and visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with anchors, reporters, photographers, and assignment editors to develop engaging content.
• Write and edit scripts with clarity, accuracy, and urgency.
• Respond to breaking news and adjust rundown as needed.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas.
