Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Main Evening Anchor for KFTA-TV, the FOX affiliate in Northwest Arkansas. The role requires leading by example, coaching staff, and delivering engaging, authoritative on-air presence across platforms.

You will participate in daily news gathering, manage breaking news, and drive social engagement and web traffic while representing the station in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent oral and written communication with ad-lib ability.
• Minimum three years of on-air anchoring experience and two years of on-camera reporting.
• Superior on-air presence and strong news judgment.
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
• Ability to coach or mentor others and identify developmental needs.
• Proficiency with office equipment and basic technology.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Present news stories and content for all platforms.
• Ensure content meets journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily.
• Build a network of sources to stay ahead of competitors.
• Write and deliver news stories clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrate compelling storytelling with live shots, stand-ups, graphics, and social media.
• Coach and mentor staff; act as field reporter as assigned.
• Conduct interviews with personnel and others.
• Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations.
• Participate in promotional activities and community involvement.
• Edit video clips and write for websites and digital platforms.
• Assist in producing newscasts and interact with viewers online.
• Promote teamwork and cooperation among staff.
