Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for Full-time evening shift to perform clinical testing of laboratory specimens and ensure accurate data for patient assessment. The role requires obtaining specimens, proper labeling, and adherence to lab guidelines.

You will verify identifications, conduct non-analyzer tests, run QC, troubleshoot instruments, and communicate critical values to physicians and nurses, while upholding safety and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree: Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Minimum of 6 months laboratory experience preferred.
• ASCP eligible and pass certification within 6 months of hire or certified Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT.
• Mandatory Reporter

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical testing of laboratory specimens to provide accurate and reliable data.
• Obtains proper specimens for testing and labels them per guidelines.
• Performs quality control testing on analyzers and interprets results.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation and assays; documents procedures and results.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
