Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join our clinical testing team. Under CLIA guidelines, the role processes specimens, performs tests, and reports waived and non-waived results with accuracy and efficiency. The position is evenings (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) at 90 Blossom Street in Boston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience typical.
• ASCP-BOC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow CLIA-based procedures for specimen handling, testing, and reporting.
• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Follow corrective action policies when test systems are out of specification.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisors as needed.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications (42 CFR 493.1425, 493.1495).
