Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples and apply approved microbiological methods for testing food products, ingredients, and environments. Responsibilities include aseptic technique, maintaining media and reagents, and ensuring quality control and accurate records.

The role supports FSNS and related brands, with a focus on safe, hygienic laboratory practices, standard procedures, and timely communication within the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance by cleaning and sanitizing.
• Perform quality control monitoring by incubator temperatures and controls.
• Follow FSNS policies and procedures and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory condition, equipment, supplies, and records.
• Work safely, neatly, and efficiently, sharing information openly.
