Job summary

Lakeside Special Care in Lakeside, CA is hiring a Mental Health Worker to oversee clients’ adherence to program guidelines and communicate with persons served. You will provide rehabilitation groups and assist in crisis intervention while supporting a safe, compassionate environment.

The role requires at least 6 months of experience, English fluency, and the ability to work independently and with diverse individuals. Includes full-time schedule 11a-7:30pm with wage 18–21/hr DOE.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and external parties.
• Patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm in handling residents.
• Must not pose a direct threat to others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to groups on time and record participation.
• Facilitate groups and activities as assigned.
• Lead MHW discussions as assigned.
• Lead community meetings daily.
• Supervise resident smoke breaks on outdoor patio as needed.
• Record client group participation and maintain tracking calendars.
• Document interventions and interactions in the medical record.
• Report changes in behavior to nurse and Program Counselor.
