Job summary

Ivy Park at Palo Alto is seeking a Medication Technician to supervise and assist in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, and practices of the company.

In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with medication in RCFE preferred.
• Completion of training/certification may be required by state regulation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office programs.
• Excellent communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Criminal background check and health screening required.
• May require vaccination per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track medication changes, refills, deliveries.
• Maintain confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain safe environment for staff and residents; ensure safety standards.
• Promote teamwork with co-workers and other departments.
