Job summary

Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital (GSACH) seeks a Medical Laboratory role for evening shifts in a 40-hour week. The position offers a $12,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a robust benefits package.

Responsibilities include performing analyses, ensuring specimen integrity, maintaining QC, and participating in staff training within a supportive team at a small hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science and certification in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited program or equivalent.
• Experience in clinical laboratory settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report analyses from multiple specimen sources with high accuracy.
• Maintain instrument performance, troubleshooting, and quality control records.
• Handle specimens properly and ensure proper identification and accessioning.
• Train and orient new staff; participate in ongoing education.
• Adhere to safety, compliance, and department procedures in a clinical setting.
