Job summary

OhioHealth Core Lab is seeking a clinical lab professional to ensure accurate, timely test results for diagnosis and patient management. The role combines automated and manual methods with strict quality control, instrument maintenance, and training responsibilities.

You will handle diverse specimens and uphold safety and infection control standards. The position works evening shifts, typically 24 hours per week, in a nonprofit health system with a strong commitment to community health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; eligible to sit for ASCP Board of Registry exam or completion of required coursework to sit for ASCP exam.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Experience in an automated clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• 55% Performs complex analysis of body fluids and tissues; ensures reliability of data before release.
• 15% Communicates with clinicians and staff by phone; supports patients and families.
• 20% Maintains QC data, documents instrument maintenance, and monitors analytic performance.
• 5% Maintains professional competencies and trains students/new staff.
• 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
