Job summary

The Oaks in Muskegon, MI, part of Trinity Health Senior Communities, seeks a Med Tech/Caregiver for the evening shift. Under supervision, you will deliver medication and daily care aligned with individual care plans, with an initial 3‑day training program that gets you up to speed in about 3 weeks.

This role blends clinical duties with hands‑on caregiving to ensure residents’ safety, dignity, and engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential (state-specific).
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or geriatric care (1+ year preferred).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to lift/transfers residents safely; physical stamina for standing and walking.
• Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral/topical meds following orders and the Five Rights.
• Maintain, reconcile, and audit MARs.
• Perform controlled substance counts and monitor expirations.
• Take vital signs and conduct basic tests; provide wound care as needed.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, transfers, mobility, and feeding.
• Support resident hydration and nutrition and facilitate meals.
• Maintain safe rooms and common areas; perform housekeeping tasks.
• Document care and report changes to nursing staff and families.
