Job summary

DSV in Canal Winchester, OH is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM). You will load and unload freight, control inventory, and ensure accurate documentation in a dynamic warehouse environment.

This role requires OSHA awareness, forklift and computer use, and the ability to read freight codes. You will contribute to safe, efficient operations and maintain quality storage standards while supporting internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Generally prefer 1–3 years of experience.
• Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and be able to operate a forklift and a computer.
• Must be able to read, decode, and decipher freight coding.

Responsibilities

• Load inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers.
• Unload inbound and outbound containers and sort according to size and destination.
• Read, decode, and decipher freight coding to expedite movement and tracing.
• Reconcile driver pickup and delivery manifests.
• Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight.
• Perform cleanup activities to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock.
• Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on reports.
• Responsible for inventory rotation and inspection of freight in the warehouse.
• Complete required documentation and other duties as needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment and communicate with customers.
