Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center in New York. Shift is Tuesday–Friday 5:30 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.

The role focuses on maintaining and repairing facility and conveyance systems, applying PLC and hydraulics expertise, and ensuring PM practices are followed. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree or 2-year certificate with 3–5 years of related experience, plus welding, electrical, and reading drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2‑year certificate in mechanical or electrical field.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with welding, burning, cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, and PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC-specific software (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and building-type drawings/schematics.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety requirements including OSHA standards with regard to LOTO.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems.
• Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system.
• Apply expertise in PLCs, conveyors, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians to elevate performance.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects safely and timely.
• Perform other duties to support the DC and its operational needs.
