Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assist the Maintenance Department with repairs. The position runs 2:30pm-1am, Monday through Thursday, with an hourly pay range starting at $25 and a $2 night shift premium.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of related maintenance experience. Responsibilities include ordering parts, maintaining records, and following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and control technology.
• Welding knowledge and safe equipment practices.
• Hazardous waste/material handling procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
• Assist in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts per manuals and specs.
• Order supplies and parts as required.
• Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Follow safety rules and keep a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Handle hazardous waste/materiel procedures if assigned to Treating Department.
• Prepare various reports as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
