Job summary

State of Connecticut, Department of Correction, seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor (40 Hour) for York Correctional Institution in East Lyme. The role focuses on intake assessments, individual psychotherapy, crisis management, and discharge planning within a high-security women's facility.

Responsibilities include collaborative care with treatment teams, psychosocial assessments, and documentation. Requires CT licensure; evening shift with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a professional counselor in the State of Connecticut.
• Experience in correctional or forensic behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake assessments, individual psychotherapy, crisis management and suicide risk assessment.
• Engage in discharge planning with external supports and programing.
• Maintain counseling treatment and clinical records in accordance with procedures.
• Collaborate with other behavioral health providers to improve service delivery.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Perform related duties as required.
