Job summary

Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking a Licensed Electrician (Journeyman) for the evening shift. The role involves maintaining electrical distribution, outlets, and lighting across campus, reporting to the MEP Coordinator or Assistant Director of Engineering and Building Systems.

Qualified candidates will have MA Journeyman license, 5+ years’ experience, and strong customer service skills. The position requires on-call availability and ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Electrical Journeyman's License required.
• Minimum of five years of electrical installation and maintenance experience.
• On-call availability on a rotating schedule to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to read, interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, alterations, and construction on campus electrical systems.
• Maintain and service electrical distribution, outlets, and lighting throughout buildings.
• Troubleshoot and repair control systems for boilers, cogeneration, HVAC, and fire alarm systems.
• Create work orders and coordinate journeymen and maintenance staff as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal staff for electrical issues and permits as required.
