Qualifications

• Requires master's degree in clinical field meeting Virginia licensure eligibility.
• Requires two years of mental health service experience or supervised clinical experience in Virginia.
• Valid driver's license and independent clinical license in Virginia required; pre-screener certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with others, maintains positive working relationships with crew, partners, and emergency personnel.
• May drive a City vehicle to respond in the community and uses maps/navigation to locate call locations.
• Operates radios and electronic mobile devices for communication.
• Provides crisis telephone and in-person counseling with confidential documentation.
• Completes pre-admission screenings and facilitates Temporary Detention Orders as needed.
• Prepares clear reports and maintains client records with required privacy protections.
• Provides expert testimony to Norfolk Courts regarding client history and treatment options.
• Conducts supervision and role modeling for clinical staff; leads prescreening assessments.
