Job summary

Patch Caregiving seeks a kind, motivated Lead Teacher for a part-time evening shift in Lathrop, CA, caring for children ages 2–12. You will lead activities, implement curriculum, and communicate with parents while keeping the space safe, clean, and engaging.

Expect Friday 4-10:30 pm coverage with additional on-call coverage Mon-Thu 5:30-10:30 pm. Flexible scheduling is required; some weeks vary. Join a team dedicated to safe, nurturing child care in a workplace setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Lead Teacher experience in a daycare/preschool setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning.
• Experience with diapering and diapering best practices for toddlers.
• Familiarity with toilet training approaches and supporting children.
• Strong communication with children and parents.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and positivity.
• Comfort with digital tools for parent/staff communication.
• First Aid & CPR certification (we can support completion before your start date).
• Some sites require drug testing, TB testing, and immunization records.
• State background check and fingerprinting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children in the care room.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and manage group dynamics with empathy and skill.
• Communicate regularly with parents and handle emergencies calmly.
• Plan and implement curriculum and hands-on activities.
• Maintain records, paperwork, and a clean, organized space.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and the Center Director.
• Participate in ongoing training and occasional enrollment/outreach events.
