Job summary

United Alloy in Janesville, WI is seeking a hands-on CNC laser operator to join our on-site, full-time night shift. You will set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot CO2 or fiber laser cutting cells to meet quality and production targets.

You’ll read blueprints, support continuous improvement, collaborate with maintenance and engineering, and help keep 6S and safety standards. The role includes lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Over two years’ experience operating CO2 or Fiber CNC laser-cutting machines (Cincinnati or Mitsubishi preferred).
• Able to read flat print drawings and blueprints.
• Thorough understanding of CNC processes and metal fabrication concepts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize laser cutting cells and automation equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Perform routine process audits, including first-piece inspections and quality verifications.
• Complete, maintain, and submit all required documentation related to inspections, audits, maintenance activities, and production processes.
• Collaborate with maintenance to diagnose equipment issues and minimize downtime.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust machine priorities to meet customer and production needs.
• Train and assist operators on proper machine operation, quality requirements, and standard work practices.
• Maintain 6S workplace organization and area cleanliness.
