Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Core Lab – Evening shift. You will join the specimen receiving and central files office, handling the intake and distribution hub for clinical laboratory testing, ensuring accurate labeling, specimen integrity, and timely delivery.

The role involves documentation, data entry, and collaboration with lab teams to keep testing on track. A High School diploma is required, with potential BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, process, and route specimens to testing areas with accurate labeling and specimen integrity.
• Assist with documentation, data entry, and issue resolution in collaboration with laboratory teams.
