Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group, LLC is seeking a Lab Technician specializing in phlebotomy and specimen processing to join the hospital laboratory team. You will support pre-analytical workflows, perform LIS/HIS data entry, and ensure accurate specimen handling and patient communication.

The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work the 2:30 pm–11:00 pm shift, Monday through Friday with weekends as needed. Experience in a hospital lab is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification required upon hire.
• Experience in phlebotomy or specimen processing in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle specimen receipt and processing per lab procedures.
• Perform HIS/LIS data entry and troubleshoot systems.
• Provide customer service to patients and health care providers.
• Assist in microbiology, blood bank and other lab areas as workload requires.
• Maintain accurate records, perform QA checks and ensure safety protocols.
