Job summary

Russell Tobin partnered with a leading life sciences company to recruit a Laboratory Technician for an onsite Knoxville, TN role. You will perform and troubleshoot lab procedures, support QC activities, and work with analytical instruments and LIMS to ensure data integrity.

The position is a 6-month contract with a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM schedule, involving cGMP compliance and safety procedures. Degree and licensure requirements reflect standard industry expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution, or an associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• MLT or MT licensure in Tennessee preferred; two years of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Intermediate to strong computer skills and ability to communicate effectively within the department and with other lab teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures related to screening and control of materials used in processing, manufacturing, and distribution of blood and plasma products.
• Independently perform, interpret, and troubleshoot laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other required assays.
• Perform routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and analyze results against established controls.
• Complete Quality Control (QC), equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities according to SOPs.
• Operate analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and sample workflow within laboratory information systems.
• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), regulatory requirements, EHS policies, and laboratory safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
