Job summary

Boston Medical Center Laboratory Support is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist). You will supervise LTAs, mentor students, and coordinate workflow to ensure timely phlebotomy services.

The role requires phlebotomy and lab experience, a high school diploma, and certification preferred. Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays rotate as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience required.
• Graduate of Phlebotomy Training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training of all new LTAs and students, maintaining current competency checklists.
• Coordinates and monitors activities of the LTAs on assigned shifts.
• Distributes work assignments and acts as a liaison between the Laboratory and other Departments.
• Has demonstrated advanced skills in specimen collection and troubleshooting, including LIS devices.
• Directs specimens to the appropriate departments.
• Reviews specimen status in Meditech and notes time constraints.
• Performs other clinical laboratory assistant duties as required.
• Performs venipunctures successfully per policy.
• Maintains safety PPE usage and follows all department policies.
