Job summary

The Lab Helper position at Montefiore Medical Center's Einstein Rapid Response Lab in the Bronx, NY, supports non-clinical tasks such as sample prep, tracking, and logistics. Evening shift, alternate weekends, 12 PM–8 PM, with a 7-hour daily schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment (centrifuges, instruments).
• Good communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve samples/slides and prepare aliquots as needed.
• Operate Laboratory Electronic System for specimen tracking.
• Deliver and pick-up samples to the correct workstation or department.
• Monitor stock levels and store supplies per guidelines.
• Report facility issues with bioengineering/engineering as applicable.
• Keep logs and prepare requisitions for shipment or storage.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and safety guidelines.
