Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Itasca, IL. Monday - Friday 6:00pm - 2:30am (rotating weekends).

You will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare them for testing, perform data entry, maintain equipment, and follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; preferred candidates have 3 months of specimen processing or medical/lab experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months+ specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months+ medical or laboratory experience preferred.
• Able to pass a color vision test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
