Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician I/II to perform a variety of procedural tasks in the Duke Raleigh Hospital laboratory. You will handle specimen collection, processing, and analysis, while delivering accurate results and maintaining records.

The role requires basic phlebotomy skills, strong communication, and adherence to safety standards. Evening shift 2pm-10:30pm with opportunities in a CAP/CLIA-accredited environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training recommended.
• Basic phlebotomy and specimen processing knowledge.
• Knowledge of medical terms is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use hospital systems.
• Effective patient and team communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures as assigned.
• Prepare tests including cytogenetics, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.
• Obtain total volume, aliquot, and label specimens accurately.
• Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
• Maintain lab records, order entry, and specimen tracking.
• Adhere to quality control, safety, and infection control protocols.
