Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a 40-hour inpatient pharmacist for the evening shift to support our hospital operations. The role emphasizes accurate medication order interpretation, medication history, patient education, and collaboration with physicians to optimize patient care.

Qualified candidates will have a Massachusetts pharmacist license and 2–3 years general pharmacy experience (or 1 year pediatric experience). Annual full benefits and a $10,000 sign-on bonus are available.

Qualifications

Massachusetts pharmacist license or intern license required; licensure within 90 days for intern
Experience supporting inpatient pharmacy operations is valued
Two to three years general pharmacy experience or one year pediatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

Oversee controlled substances distribution and inpatient non-sterile compounding oversight
Interpret and evaluate medication orders for dosing and safety, contacting physicians as needed
Review and dispense physician orders, ensuring correct products and labeling
Verify orders filled by staff and ensure proper preparation
Provide drug information as a subject matter expert and patient education
Complete medication history documentation and support quality improvement initiatives
Supervise support personnel in assigned area and ensure compliance with procedures
