Job summary

Boston Public Schools is developing a talent pool of current staff to provide compensatory counseling services outside the regular school day, with hours ranging from 2 to 20 per week.

Counselors will be trained in mental health counseling and will schedule and deliver in-person or virtual sessions with students and parents, track services in Edplan, complete progress reports, and ensure all planning/documentation is completed as required.

Qualifications

• Currently working in Boston Public Schools
• Appropriate licensure

Responsibilities

• Schedule counseling sessions with the parent and student
• Provide in-person or virtual counseling to individual students based on their IEPs
• Track services given in Edplan and complete other data requests regarding the services when asked
• Complete IEP progress reports when requested
