Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Nursing & ICU Veterinary Technician to join the emergency and specialty team in New Orleans. The role involves monitoring hospitalized patients, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement and assisting DVM with treatments and procedures.

Candidates should have RVT licensure or be licensed; prior veterinary nursing or critical care experience is preferred. Strong communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; nursing or critical care experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
