Job summary

New Brunswick Public Schools in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Evening HSE Teacher: Bilingual Support to help adult learners and out-of-school youth succeed. You will provide instruction in mathematics, reading, and writing to prepare students for the NJ State High School Equivalency exam and diploma.

Candidates must hold a valid NJ Teacher Certificate in any subject area, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and demonstrate strong communication and instructional skills.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Teacher Certificate in any subject area (REQUIRED).
• Experience with HSE, formerly GED, preparation and instruction preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
• Experience working with adult learners and/or out-of-school youth preferred.
• Strong communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction in mathematics, reading, and writing to adult learners and out-of-school youth.
• Prepare students to successfully complete the New Jersey State High School Equivalency (HSE) examination and earn a New Jersey State High School Diploma.
• Provide bilingual instructional support in English and Spanish as needed to support student learning and achievement.
