Job summary

AUTUMNWIND in Caldwell, Idaho seeks a dedicated housekeeping aide to maintain clean public areas, resident rooms, and floors in a long-term care setting. This role requires safety-minded individuals who can work independently or with a team.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and English literacy; experience in long-term care preferred. Daily duties include cleaning, trash removal, and reporting supply needs and safety concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow written/oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day.
• Keep resident rooms and bathrooms clean.
• Maintain handrails clean and debris-free.
• Clean walls, mirrors, windows and fixtures.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Follow safety procedures and keep chemicals away from residents.
• Use supplies and equipment safely and per user manuals.
• Maintain housekeeping carts and storage areas in good order.
• Notify Maintenance Director or Business Office Manager when supplies need replenished.
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
• Work independently or as part of a team as required.

Job description

• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors.
• Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
• Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents.
• Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner.
• Notify the Maintenance Director, Executive Director, or Health Services Director immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
• Notify the Maintenance Director or Business Office Manager when supplies need to be replenished.
• Excellent customer skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Supervisory Requirements

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Minimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma.

Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Fluent in written and spoken English.
