Job summary

Swedish Hospital in Northwest Community Hospital is seeking a Painter for per diem, evening shifts (3pm - 11:30pm) with rotating weekends. The role involves painting, wallpapering and minor repairs across hospital facilities.

You will prepare surfaces, patch and repaint, maintain clean work areas, and coordinate with Maintenance for significant repairs. Requires a high school diploma and two years of painting experience, with safe latex paints in patient areas.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Two years painting experience preferred.
• Preferred Skills: Knowledge of and/or experience with body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Patches, repairs, and paints all types of surfaces within the hospital.
• Properly prepares surfaces for painting, e.g. spackling and sanding.
• Thoroughly cleans area when work is completed; vacuums dust and resets furniture.
• Repairs minor damages to walls; submits work orders for significant issues.
• Maintains a clean and orderly paint storage area.
• Orders paint and supplies; uses non-toxic latex paints in patient areas.
• Obtains Director's approval before using enamels, oil base, epoxy paints.
• Hangs wallpaper using proper techniques and measures surfaces.
• Repairs or replaces architectural finishes and moves furniture as needed.
• Repairs equipment and assists other maintenance workers.
