Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a housekeeping professional for the evening shift in a 40-hour work week. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment and supporting patient areas across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow simple English instruction.
• Employees must be at least 18 years of age to perform this role.
• Preferred: 3–6 months experience as a houseworker.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard cleaning procedures in all areas of the hospital and buildings, including patient rooms and support spaces.
• Performs high dusting, disinfects surfaces, mops floors, vacuums, and cleans fixtures in bathrooms and showers.
• Burnishes floors with burnishers and cleans with floor machines.
• Checks out cleaning tasks for discharges and transfer units, making beds as needed.
• Picks up trash and transports to the designated collection area.
