Job summary

Geisinger in Danville, PA seeks an Environmental Services Technician to clean and disinfect patient rooms, ORs, hallways and support areas. You will follow isolation precautions, use designated cleaners and equipment, and manage various waste streams in a hospital setting.

Typical hours are 4:00 am to 12:30 pm with weekend and holiday rotation. We offer a sign-on bonus up to $2,500, competitive compensation and benefits, plus opportunities for CHEST certification and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital environmental services is preferred.
• Ability to follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Familiarity with waste streams and hospital cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical areas, office spaces, corridors and stairwells.
• Handles municipal, recyclable, pharmaceutical, biohazard, chemotherapeutic, and sharps waste.
• Adheres to isolation precautions and uses hospital-approved cleaners and power equipment.
• Operates autoclave/chemclave for red bag waste where applicable and ensures proper packaging.
